Three fields to choose from
Three regularly mown and well drained grass fields are available, each with their own individual character and suiting different needs.
Essentially, Gurney’s Plantation is for caravans and motor homes only. Marl Pit covers a very large area in the centre of the site and is dog-free. On the highest ground, Moll’s Meadow permits dogs.
Altogether it’s a huge campsite and it takes hours just to wander around the entire site. There’s lots of space and it offers younger children the chance to run off and explore.
There are 3 major supermarkets (Co-op, Lidl and Morrisons) very close to the campsite (but not within eyesight), making it very easy to stock up with provisions, even by foot.
There’s a footpath leading into Cromer and it’s easy to explore west, all the way along to Sheringham Park (NT). The position is ideal.
And, of course, the beach at East Runton is just down the road.
1. Gurney’s Plantation
(caravans and motor homes only)
A landscaped terraced field consisting of 60 level serviced pitches, most with panoramic sea views. There are 2 amenity blocks with free hot showers, washing up facilities and a separate wheelchair accessible toilet. A play area with swings and climbing frame is provided to keep the children amused.
This field is for caravans and motor homes only and no dogs are allowed.
2. Marl Pit
(caravans, motor homes and tents)
This large field is divided by a row of trees and surrounded by hedges and woodland. There are 49 serviced pitches for either tents or caravans. The remaining area is unmarked and if you do not require a serviced pitch you may choose your own spot. There is an adventure play area for the children adjoining this field. Many pitches have sea views.
There are 2 modern, recently refurbished, amenity blocks, both with free hot showers and washing up facilities. There is an accessible/family shower room with WC in one block and laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer in the other.
This field is for suitable for caravans, motor homes and tents and no dogs are allowed.
3. Moll’s Meadow
(caravans, motor homes and tents)
Moll’s Meadow has some wonderful views over the adjoining countryside, woods and sea. It has 38 serviced pitches for tents or caravans. The remaining area is unmarked leaving those who do not require a serviced pitch free to choose their own location.
There are 2 amenity blocks, both with free hot showers. There is an accessible/family shower room with WC. There are also washing up facilities and a laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer.
Manor Farm like dogs and have therefore allocated Moll’s Meadow for those who don’t want the family pet to miss out on the fun! All they ask is that your canine guests are well behaved, not left unattended and kept on a short lead at all times. They must be exercised off the site – there are farm tracks nearby suitable for this. Up to two dogs can be accommodated on a pitch.
Part of the beauty of this large, gently rolling site is that it has gorgeous views of the sea, with the beach at East Runton —pebbly, with great rock pools — a short walk down the hill and through the village.
There’s a play area and space for football. The sugary thrills of Cromer are within walking distance: the old-fashioned seaside town is packed with amusement arcades, charity shops, fish-and-chip parlours and cafés full of old ladies enjoying tea and cake. – The Sunday Times
