Bridge Cottage was originally a mill worker’s cottage, situated in Millgate, Aylsham – one of the oldest parts of this market town.
The cottage is located close to the River Bure and was built to house mill workers. The mill has been here since Domesday (or possibly earlier).
This newly renovated cottage is of traditional Norfolk red brick and flint construction. The owners have tried to maintain the historical atmosphere of the property whilst providing you with quality modern comforts.
Bridge Cottage is well equipped to provide you with everything you need for a relaxing holiday or weekend break.
The lounge features an original open fireplace with gas fired stove to enjoy. It’s the perfect place to cosy up around the stove on cool nights.
The spacious kitchen (with dining area) is flooded with natural light from the glazed roof and has a round dining table that seats four.
A set of French doors opens onto a charming private courtyard garden, complete with garden furniture and a shed to store bikes.
Leading from the kitchen, the well appointed downstairs bathroom has a shower over the bath, a toilet, basin underfloor heating and complimentary toiletries for a luxurious soak!
The first floor
On the first floor you’ll find a spacious and welcoming master bedroom with a comfortable 5’ Victorian style King size bed and plenty of storage.
The second bedroom with a double bed and storage, overlooks the pretty cottage garden at the back of the property.
Parking is not restricted outside the cottage but the road is narrow. Guests are therefore recommended to park a short walk away (approx. 150m) and to use the road at the front of the cottage for unloading and loading only.
The cottage comprises
- Fully inclusive of all utilities, central heating

- Linens (excluding beach towels)
- Electric oven & hob
- Fridge with freezer compartment
- Washing machine
- Flat Screen TV
- DVD player
