Little Barn is thought to date back to the 17th century, when a London lawyer, escaping the Great Plague, first built a house on this spot. Situated down a quiet country lane surrounded by rolling fields, Little Barn is within easy reach of all the attractions of beautiful and historic North Norfolk.
Set off in any direction and you will be sure to find something to interest you. Little Barn’s central location in north Norfolk makes it ideal for many attractions including walking, cycling, visiting stately homes or Norwich.
The lounge has exposed original beams, a wood burning stove, and French doors opening onto a large well-kept garden.
Little Barn comes with a small garden accessed via the French doors from the lounge at the rear of the barn. A shingled area provides an excellent outdoor area to relax and eat in (with table, parasol, barbecue and chairs provided).
A small lawn follows, extending into the much larger garden of Brae Cottage which guests are equally welcome to enjoy. This larger garden features a lawned area, attractive flower beds and a seated area surrounded by English roses. 28 species of birds have been spotted in the garden.
Well behaved dogs are welcome. Linen and towels are provided, and there is ample parking available. Logs supplied.
Briston
One of the largest villages in Norfolk, Briston is a charming village adjacent to the village of Melton Constable, once famous for its busy railway station (since closed). Briston has a large village green, which features a travelling fairground and Summer Fete once a year. The Recreation Ground at the Briston Pavilion has an enclosed children’s playing area, football pitches and tennis courts.
Gastronauts and lovers of cooking note that Briston boasts two of the best butchers in Norfolk (H.V. Graves and M & M Rutland Specialist Butchers). There’s also a bakery and a seafood outlet (Norfolk Sea Larder) – fresh fish, Cromer crab and lobster, collected by their boats every day!
Briston is approximately 4 miles from the popular Georgian town of Holt, 9 miles inland from the coastal village of Blakeney, 11 miles from the coastal resort of Sheringham and 22 miles from the city of Norwich.
A trip to Blickling Hall and Estate is an easy journey, only 8 miles away.
