Sharing the sunny courtyard with The Old Bakehouse (sleeps 4) is the equally delightful Hardy’s Cottage – named for the previous owner who lived here for many years – is suitable for both couples and young families.
Pleasantly situated in the heart of the fishing village of Overstrand, Hardy’s cottage is only a few minutes’ walk from the beach – making it an ideal location for both seaside holidays or a quiet few days away.
Inside the design of the cottage is open plan but without losing any sense of cosiness. The charming living room boasts an impressive feature fireplace, digital television, DVD player, radio and a traditional polished wooden floor. Comfortably decorated this is a lovely room to relax in after a hard day spent exploring Overstrand and beyond.
Through the arch leads you into the hospitable cottage style kitchen/diner with fitted wood units, together with a matching table & chairs. Underfoot is the traditional Norfolk pammented flooring, evocative of a bygone era. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, ceramic hob, microwave and dishwasher. An automatic washer/dryer and fridge/freezer can be found in the handy little utility room.
The bedrooms at Hardy’s Cottage are tastefully decorated in a style reminiscent of the late Victorian or early Edwardian period.
The master bedroom has a wonderful king size reproduction Victorian iron bedstead whilst the second bedroom has the unique attraction of a pair of large, comfortable bunk beds, big enough to accommodate both children and adults.
Upstairs is the attractively part-tiled family bathroom, complete with shower, bath, toilet & wash basin.
Parking is roadside no permits or restrictions.
Overstrand, north Norfolk
Overstrand was the favourite place of many well-known figures including Winston Churchill and the London journalist and travel writer, Clement Scott who fell in love with the area and coined the name ‘Poppyland’. It’s proximity to Cromer provides the opportunity to enjoy a stroll along the beach to nearby Cromer (or you can walk along the cliff tops).

Six of their holiday cottages are located in the popular seaside village of Overstrand, all of them just a few minutes’ walk from the beach.
9 miles inland from Cromer, Swallow Cottage 1 and Swallow Cottage 2 (each sleeping 4) offer a more rural north Norfolk location. There’s also Hollybrook Cottage (sleeps 5) and Hollybrook House (sleeps 8) in the village of Aylmerton, ideally located on the very edge of the beautiful Felbrigg Estate and only 3 miles from the beach at West Runton, close to Cromer.
