The Pavilion’s green oak frame was erected by the Crane family who specialise in restoring medieval timber buildings. It was completed in 2009. Using a traditional form of structure, a contemporary building has been created which makes the most of its surroundings. With floor to ceiling windows in every room, one has the sense of actually sitting ‘in’ the meadow.

Inside, the oak frame has been left exposed up into the roof, giving the pavilion a light and spacious feeling. Large French windows open onto the surrounding paved veranda and terrace.
Underfloor heating keeps the pavilion cosy, plus there’s a wood burning stove in the living area. Solar panels and a boiler provide hot water.
The open plan kitchen/dining/living area is 8m by 4m with oak flooring and glass all round. The living room area has a comfortable sofa and armchairs, television/DVD player, books, maps and games.
The fitted kitchen has a dishwasher, oven, microwave, gas hob, fridge, toaster, electric kettle and washer/drier. All the other necessary kitchen equipment is provided.
The Pavilion offers a double bedroom on the ground floor with its own ensuite bathroom, with shower and underfloor heating. The second, twin bedroom provides views into the meadow. The main bathroom is adjacent to both bedrooms.
The mezzanine/gallery sleeping area is exciting and quite unusual. Set up under the oak frame ceiling, it is reached by ‘paddle stairs’. This overlooks the living/dining area below and has a toughened glass balustrade. It is carpeted and has one single and one double low bed, bedside tables, reading lights and chairs.

A paved covered veranda runs around the building leading onto a terrace with garden table and chairs.
The pavilion has its own car parking area with plenty of room for three cars and a large lockable shed for bicycles, body boards, crab lines etc..
Ideal for walkers and cyclists
The Pavilion is ideal for walkers and cyclists and will appeal to those who are sympathetic to the environmentally friendly nature of the house. The Weaver’s Way path runs alongside the meadow. A pleasant half hour walk will take you to Felbrigg Hall past the lake.
10 minutes by car gets you to the nearest sandy beach at West Runton from where you can walk to Cromer (25 minutes) and reward yourself with a cup of tea at the end of the pier. On the way back you will be following in the footsteps of the 4 metre high mammoth which was dug up in 1995 after it died here 600,000 years ago.
